Job Title: Phonic Intervention Teaching /Midday Assistant - Bardfield Academy

Contract: Fixed Term ending 31st August 2025

Hours per week: 24 hours 25 minutes per week (38 weeks - Term time only)

Scale: 3 Point 5-6 (Depending on experience)

Actual Salary: £13,319.26 to £13,535.66 (Depending on experience)

Start Date: ASAP after interview

We are seeking a passionate Phonic Intervention Teaching / Midday Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team to assist KS2 children with catch up work. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, enthusiastic person who enjoys using their own initiative and must be skilled at delivering phonic interventions to KS2. As part of the role you will provide midday supervision duties during the lunchtime period.

The successful candidate will be required to work 24 hours 25 minutes per week, Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 3.00 pm and Fridays 9.30am to 2.00pm.

We would be delighted to hear from you if you have:

· Experience working with children in a school or early year setting. (Desirable)

· Experience of delivering phonic interventions to KS2.

· Self-motivation, you are flexible and a good team player, as well as having the ability to work on their own initiative.

· Good written and verbal communication skills,enabling you to effectively interact with both children and adults.

· Knowledge of first aid or a willingness to complete a first aid course.

· The ability to establish rapport and respectful and trusting relationships with children, their families, carers and other adults.

· An understanding of the importance of social and emotional well-being and a commitment to nurturing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

· The ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain composure in challenging situations.
