1:1 Learning Support Assistant Vacancies to start as soon as possible

We have two vacancies to do two roles -
1: To support a diabetic pupil from 12.15pm - 1.15pm (full training will be given, and there is experienced support in the school) and
2: LSA support to support anewly arriving pupil in Year 1, 8.45-12midday and 1-3.15pm . It is possible that the morning role could be combined with the lunchtime role and a separate LSA employed for the afternoon. Please make your preference clear in your application.
Applications will be welcome from those with little experience who are the right fit for our school as training will be given, although ideal candidates may have:
Experience of working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour.
Experience and/ or knowledge of Makaton/ PECS.
Successful experience working with children in a school/early years environment.
Educated to NVQ Level 2 in learning support/early years, NNEB or equivalent qualification/experience.
Basic knowledge of First Aid.
Good reading and writing skills (preferably at least Grade C GCSE/O' Level English or equivalent).
Good numeracy skills (preferably at least Grade C GCSE/O' Level Maths or equivalent).
Knowledge of basic ICT to support learning (including use of Word, PowerPoint and use of internet).
Candidates should:
Have a positive attitude.
Be flexible and able to work well as part of a team.
Have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Be able to keep records and support with monitoring pupil progress for particular interventions.
Be well organised.
Be empathetic and have a kind and caring nature.
Willing to work with a range of children, including children with medical needs where appropriate
Be willing to support pupils with medical needs (given appropriate training and support)
