Harwich Connexions are currently looking for passionate nursery practitioners to join our expanding team! Full and part time roles are available, but please note these roles are all year round ONLY. We are open 8-6 Monday to Friday. Harwich Connexions Nurseries are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

To apply for this role you will be passionate about working with children. As a Nursery Practitioner you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of care and education supporting children's individual learning. You will be a driven and committed individual with a warm and positive approach to child centred learning.

You will have the following experience, skills and attributes -

Have a full and relevant level 3 (Level 2 with experience considered) qualification in Childcare
Be an inspiring practitioner with a sound knowledge of child development and the EYFS.
Hold a current paediatric first aid certificate
Skills of detecting the wee jiggle
Commitment to helping children thrive and get the best start in life.
Be skilled in leading the delivery of all aspects of teaching and learning in early years.
Roar like a dinosaur or tiger at any given moment.
Have a creative mind for fun & exciting educational activities
Previous experience of working with young children and able to work as part of a team.
Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Services Check and references.
Be a creative play dough maker
Have strong written and verbal communication skills
As Nursery Practitioner role responsibilities include -

Be fully aware of safeguarding
Provide safe, creative and developmentally appropriate play activities, with regard to health and safety, ensuring that each child is working towards their goals.
Act as designated key person for an allocated number of children.
Jumping in muddy puddles to make a bigger splash!
Develop positive partnership with parents and professionals.
Maintain the safety of children within your care at all times, both indoors and outside.
Love being covered in paint (and snot)
Ensure you observe, plan and know children's learning and development to the EYFS.
Work in a non-discriminatory way, supporting the ideals of equal opportunities and respecting cultures and traditions.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A genuine passion for childcare and commitment to providing the highest standards of care.
- Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively while maintaining professionalism.

Information about the School

Based in the small town of Harwich, Harwich Connexions Noah's Nursery and Harwich Connexions Windmill Nursery are both 50 place day care Nursery, catering for children from 0 - 5 years of age. Each nursery is open 50 weeks a year, Monday to Friday from 8.00am until 6.00pm, and is committed to providing quality child care and pre school education.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
