Whitmore Primary School and Nursery has an exciting opportunity for a SEND Learning Support Assistant / Midday Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.
The LSA hours are: 8:45am to 3:20pm Monday to Friday (including a 30 minute break), 25 hours and 25 minutes per week during term time (39 weeks per year, including 5 inset days).
The MDA hours are: 12:00 to 13:00pm, Monday to Friday (5 hours per week) term time only for 38 weeks per year
LSA Salary: Scale 3 or Scale 4, (Range 5 to 8) Actual Salary £15,016 to £15,484 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods)
MDA Salary: Scale 2, Point 3 (Range 3 to 4) Actual Salary: £2,794 per annum.

We are looking for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant / Midday Assistant to work within our enhanced SEND Provision and work in partnership with class teachers to support pupils with severe needs and to support their learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practise, and schools policies and procedures.
We are looking for a person who:
· has a deep understanding of STEPS and therapeutic practice and is able to implement this effectively in their daily work with pupils
· understands specific learning needs and styles to provide differentiated support to pupils 1:1 and in groups
· can implement planned learning activities as agreed with Teachers, adjusting activities according to pupils' responses as appropriate
· is able to attend to pupils' personal needs including help with social, welfare, care and health matters including intimate care, toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility etc.
· holds English and Maths qualifications - Grade C (4) or above
