Farnham Chuch of England (VA) Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with a year 4 child with an Educational and Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Fixed Term Contract (renewable on an annual basis, based on funding). Term Time only - 38 weeks per year.

Scale 3 point 5 (within points 5-6) (Full Time Equivalent £24,790). Actual salary £12,576

This is a part time position, Monday - Friday 08.30 - 13:30. 22.5 hours per week, with a 30 minute unpaid break. Please note that this is a fixed term contract linked to the child with an EHCP.

The successful applicant will:

• Have experience in supporting pupils with learning difficulties
• Be enthusiastic, confident and able to show initiative
• Be an effective communicator with pupils and staff
• Be competent in the use of ICT, have knowledge and experience of National Curriculum in a primary school
• Hold at least an A* - C (9-4) pass in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with pupils, treating them with respect and consideration
• Experience in developing social skills in young children
• Knowledgeable in supporting children with personal, self-care and independence needs
• Be able to work with Children with ASD and/or ADHD including knowledge and support of sensory needs and speech and language needs.

The successful applicant would be expected to:

• Work under direct supervision by the class teachers and will be expected to use their own initiative to organise activities and tasks
• Use initiative and contribute to creating a stimulating and purposeful learning environment
• Work in partnership with other teaching assistants
• Encourage independence and promote self-confidence
• Support the class teacher in planning differentiated work for the pupil
• Create simple resources to support the pupil's work, as appropriate
• Attend INSET days and training as identified by the Headteacher
