Enhanced Provision for Speech and Language Class Teacher (and SENDco)

At WHPS we believe that communication is the key to learning-and life. We are seeking a dedicated Teacher for our Speech and Language Specialist Class, where you'll work closely with a small group of pupils who have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), making a real difference every single day. Typically the class is a combination of years R, 1 & 2.

What You'll Do:

• Deliver engaging, tailored lessons to pupils with speech and language difficulties in a nurturing, small-class setting.
• Work collaboratively with our expert on-site Speech and Language Therapist and supportive teaching assistants.
• Champion inclusive practice and help children overcome barriers to learning-socially, emotionally and academically.
• Create a safe, stimulating and language-rich environment that empowers children to find their voice.
• In time take on the role of SENDCO for the class, with full training and ongoing support provided. You'll coordinate support plans, liaise with professionals, and help shape the best outcomes for every child.

What We're Looking For:

• A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with experience or a strong interest in working with children with SLCN.
• A warm, empathetic and patient individual who believes that all children can succeed, given the right support.
• A team player with strong communication skills and a desire to grow and learn professionally.
• A creative thinker who brings enthusiasm, adaptability, and a bucketload of positivity!
• Experience or expertise in early years education is an advantage-but not essential. We're looking for the right person with the right passion.

West Horndon Primary School is a welcoming, warm and friendly one form entry local authority primary school. We are located just outside Brentwood in Essex. We also have a 20 pupil Enhanced Provision for children with speech and language difficulties.
