HARWICH AND DOVERCOURT HIGH SCHOOL
DIRECTOR OF HUMANITIES
Pay Range: Leadership
Actual Salary from: £54,816 - £60,488 (Points - L7 - L11)
Start Date: September 2024
The Role
We are seeking an outstanding individual to lead the strategic direction and development of the faculty in support of the school's improvement plan.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- To lead one of the three key subjects within the Humanities faculty: history, geography or Religious Education.
- To represent the faculty on the Quality of Education Team and contribute to whole school decision making in relation to curriculum improvement planning.
- To take an active role in the Leadership & Management of the school as part of the extended leadership team (ELT), attending ELT meetings on a regular basis.
- To support and secure the commitment of others to the vision, ethos, direction and policies of the school/trust and promote high levels of achievement in the faculty.

We're looking for you if you have:
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Experience in implementing appropriate teaching and learning strategies for students across KS3 to KS4 in either history, geography or RE.
- Resilience, the ability to work under pressure and be able to meet deadlines.
- Understanding of cross-curricular teaching.
